The objective of the workshop was to strengthen local capacity for implementation of the Sápara IPCCA local assessment through exploring traditional knowledge related to climate change and strengthening application of the IPCCA approach and methodology. The IPCCA Secretariat was invited to help organize and facilitate the workshop by the local implementing organisation, the Asociación de Mujeres Sápara, in coordination with their partners Land is Life. As the Potato Park local assessment in Peru is the leading IPCCA local assessment process it was decided that two local technicians from the Potato Park should travel to the Sápara Territory as part of the facilitation team to ensure a horizontal knowledge exchange.
